24.Sep.09 3D video projections may be the new hot shit in VJing

 

The first few rounds of these video demonstrations we saw were pretty cool. This latest display is a serious step up.

 

Using a high powered HD video projector, people are creating stunning visual displays in public places around the world. They start out by creating a 3D model of the projection surface and then with that map they can render amazing and realistic effects with their graphic software of choice. Why this technique isn’t being utilized (to our knowledge) in live event production yet is unknown to us. This would no doubt BLOW minds at a show. Hmmm we may just have to look into this…
