“Bookworm just dropped another remix on Addictech this week. This time it’s for Daly City Record’s label boss and champion of the west coast hyphy glitched out bass sound, Mochipet. The release came out at part of Mochipet’s Master P on Atari Transformed Vol. 2. Other notable artists invited to contribute to this release include Jtonal of The Flying Skulls, Sugarpill, Mindelixir, Free the Robots and Monk Fly.

Bookworm’s remix has already jumped into the top 50 downloads for this week.

Mindelixir is back with another rager: The Higher EP

The Higher EP marks Mindelixir’s second release on ALR. Side A. is a collab/ dubstep remix of the Beautiful Small Machines tune “Simple Joys.” This dubstep remix features vocals from Bree Sharp of B.S.M., and Simon LeBon from Duran Duran. Mindelixir’s dubstep reworking of this tune is as intense and dramatic as they come!!! The second track, “Higher,” is the panty wetting banger that we’ve all been rockin out to for the past few months. Mindelixir finally allowed this one to go to the masses. You all owe him a thank you note for this one!! The final track on this ep is the nails in the coffin on this release. Side C. “Futurism” is another banger that further cements Mindelixir’s signature style and sound in this ever changing genre. “The Higher EP” dropped exclusively on Beatport.com November 9th 2009. Asheville Beat Club mixtape series

Starting as a joint effort between LFO and Skew Records, the Asheville Beat Club – as I guess we will tentatively refer to it – is to be a weekly meeting of local (mostly) electronic musicians in the Asheville area. Members will meet every week to showcase a new track each that they have been working on and at the meeting participants will receive feedback and constructive criticism.

At the end of every week following the meeting, a mix will be dropped for free download featuring all completed tracks from that week’s meeting.

Currently the first meeting will consist of DM Stair, Moving Temple, Peripheral and Bookworm but we expect the club to grow steadily, and with it, the mixtapes will become larger and more diverse.

More information will be made available as we slowly get this puppy off the ground. Folks interested in information about participating in the club can contact us about that here.

Some of the tracks on this compilation are laid down on instrumentals produced by J Dilla so you can expect a palette of grade A beats backing a killer array of lyricists.

Bonobo’s single “The Keeper” comes complete with a video

What the hey, another Bonobo video… In anticipation of his upcoming release expected around January of 2010, Simon Green, better known as Bonobo, has released a single and music video of the track titled “The Keeper” featuring his live band and vocals by Ninja Tune’s Andreya Triana. Some of you will recognize her from the recent Bonobo live band tour from earlier this year. Great track, nice laid back video to match. Bonobo rocks!

Oh, and for good measure, here is a free download of Bonobo’s recent DJ set at the New Earth Music hall in Athens, GA!
