30.Sep.09 Mr. Invisible’s Aswell destroying the MPC

I cannot believe that I hadn’t thrown this up on the blog yet. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him throw down live 3 times (one being our Bele Chere late night show). Yes, this is all in real time. And this version is not nearly as smooth as the performances we’ve been seeing lately. Just try and beat that. You can’t.

26.Sep.09 Bookworm’s Audio Poppies Mini Mix drops today!

This mixtape debuts seven original compositions by Asheville, NC based producer Bookworm and encompasses styles of downtempo, hip hop, broken beat, chillout dubstep, glitch and jazz. Interestingly, it features two seperate dubstep remixes of tracks titled “Maps” with the original songs by two different artists.

This mix is a tease leading up to a full fledged release expected from Bookworm some time around the end of this year. You can checkout bookworm at his MySpace page. An official website is on the way soon.

26.Sep.09 North Carolina hip hop throw it up!

Never heard of these guys until today and I must say they are doing the damn thing right. The beat production on this track is on that a-grade next level tip. Very reminiscant of Dilla and 9th Wonder.

From Raleigh, NC – Kooley High is worth keeping an eye on for sure.

After the complete mayhem and insanity Benga brought us in June we just had to do it again with Skream. This is the first time he has ever played in North Carolina and we are proud to bring it to you…

Meet Skream: Croydon’s musical wonderkid. At 15 he discovered making music. Five years later he’s changed the course of UK urban music, having helped build the foundations of London’s most exciting new musical style, dubstep. But he’s barely started yet: because right now, Skream is an artist on fire.
